Tizrah

I had the opportunity to meet the wonderful Tizrah the other day. She is a rescue dog and, in case you are wondering about the name, she is named after her person’s great-grandmother!

Unfortunately, Tizrah is suffering from a very aggressive form of cancer. She is only 5 years old but her diagnosis is not good. For now, though, she is in great spirits and enjoyed a really fun few hours of photography!

Tizrah does have a tumor in her eye from the cancer, but you almost don’t even notice it because she has such an adorable personality.

She made this funny face in a lot of the shots- you know, the ole’ tooth stuck in the gum look?

The shot on the chair was the very last one we took. By then, I think she had the whole posing thing down pretty well!! She definitely did not want to stop :)

Whenever I photograph a dog with cancer, I donate a portion of those proceeds to “2 dogs 2000 miles”. This is the journey of a really amazing guy named Luke Robinson who lost his Great Pyrenees to cancer a few years ago. He decided to raise awareness and support for finding a cure by trekking across the nation with his two dogs.

He has been walking for about a year- in fact, he came through Louisville last January. He’s someone who is trying his best to make some strides in curing canine cancer, which affects 1 in 4 dogs. Sassy and Maddox

About the only thing Sassy and Maddox really have in common is their size. I think you can kind of see their personalities in this picture: Sassy is sweet and usualy calm and collected whereas Maddox is a bundle of excitement and mischief! Can you tell who is who?

Yep - you’re right. This is Sassy. She has such a beautiful and loving face, doesn’t she?

Her “brother” Maddox is a little toot- he flies around barking and jumping and making the funniest faces ever! He’s a little goofball! Seriously.

I think he looks like an ewok in this picture :)

Cute dogs! And lots of fun to photograph.

Molly

If Molly were human, she’d be destined for greatness. She is just one of those dogs who is smart, loving, funny, sweet- and appropriately goofy as to provide hours of entertainment to those around her! :)

Isn’t she adorable? She’s super funny. She’ll be just standing around and then suddenly, she’ll just decide to chase her tail! It’s really silly.

But then she can just look at you as though there’s not a problem in the world she can’t solve. What a great dog!

Sierra

I’ve always had a thing for Husky’s. I think they are just so amazing.

I went to Alaska last year and spent some time with some of the Husky’s who raced in the Iditarod. It’s just crazy how much enthusiasm and energy they have. Not to mention= they are just stunning dogs.

And Sierra is the prettiest Husky’s I’ve ever photographed. She’s a rock star, for sure!

Of course, the stand-out feature in Sierra is obviously her eyes. Aren’t they amazing? Wow- what a spectacular dog!

Cooper and Gordon

So this is the first time I’ve met a cat who is WAY more of a dog- than a cat. I mean…. he sits, he stays- and his best friend is a dog. Aren’t they SO cute?

Cooper is really adorable. He’s a rescue dog- and LOVES his mom, Jennifer, who owns Happy Hounds Daycare.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t get to spend time with his feline buddy during the day. Gordon loves Cooper- but hanging with the other nutty dogs at the daycare is a little much for any cat!

This has to be one of my favorite pictures ever- isn’t he HILARIOUS!!!!? So cute- love him :)
