Howie

I did a really fun shoot at Happy Hounds Daycare ( www.happyhoundsdaycare.net) yesterday…..and I photographed 5 ADORABLE dogs and a really cool cat!

Here’s the first in a series of pictures from that day.

This is Howie- short for Houghton.

I don’t even know what to say about Howie except that he is one of the funniest dogs I’ve ever met.

He loves to ride in the front seat of the car, dress up in cute outfits, to be scratched, rubbed, petted, talked to, picked up, played with- and most of all- Howie loves to be fed.

Oh- and he loves his toys.. as you can see:)

I have a lot more fun pictures to show you- but I’m off with my son on a little spring break adventure. So when I return… more pics! I promise:)

Something old.. something new

Well… I’m trying a little something new. My favorite thing in the world is still to photograph animals in their natural environment. But, you have to admit, the environment in the great outdoors of Louisville, Kentucky hasn’t been all that great lately!

So… with the help of the fabulous and talented Bev Hollis ( www.bevhollisphoto.com ), and various lighting books and websites, I’ve been learning to shoot in a studio! ( and studios have heat!!)

The “old” part of this post is my little model. I know you’ve met my corgi, Henry, but I needed a guinea pig- and he just happened to be ready and willing to pose. And, you have to admit, he’s really super cute!

I’ve seen corgi’s who are trained to balance treats on their noses- but mine can’t really be anywhere near a treat without immediately performing his fool-proof-treat-getting trick… stop, drop, and roll!

So… in case you’ve been wondering where the heck I’ve been…  now you know!  And I’ll be offering this as an option to my outdoor photography for anyone who wants something a little different. ( and a little more climate controlled :) )
